If you are going by LAND or SEA to Canada, Bermuda, Mexico, US & the Caribbean all that is needed is a Valid Government Issued Photo ID & a Birth Certificate if you are 16 and older. If you are 15 & under then you will just need your Birth Certificate.

Starting January 2007 it became a requirement to fly anywhere into those locations for a passport. The summer 2008 it was to be a requirement to have a passport but that has now been delayed yet again until next year (2009)
