Canada advice - where should I move?

Hiya,
I'm currently at University in England but have always wanted to move to Canada. I've looked into visas etc & have worked out I'll need to work in skillset A or B for a year once I've graduate then I'll meet the entry requirements for immigration. However, could anyone give me advice on what places I should be considering? I love Toronto but it's too busy and expensive - I'd like to be within travelling distance of there, but in a smaller city i.e the equivalent of Bristol in England...
Any suggestions of where I should look into?
Also does anyone know what would happen about driving...do I need to retake my test or does my UK licence transfer across?
Thanks for any info :)

You may want to consider moving to Mississauga,Brampton, Oakville and/or Burlington since you wish to live in a small city but not far from Toronto,ON.... about the driver's license, in Ontario, your UK license is not transferable you have to retake both written and road tests.Good luck and welcome to Canada in advance :)

Edmonton is cool.

Anywhere along the North shore of Lake Ontario would get you into downtown Toronto on the Go Train. My partner just moved here to UK from Toronto to escape the winters. But the summers are great. She exchanged her Canada licence for a UK one and I'm sure it can be done the other way round.

vancouver is awsome

You may like my city, London, Ontario. population about 350,000 two hours (200 kilometres 120miles) from Toronto. It's home to the University of Western Ontario. I do believe you would have to take a new driving test.

u can move anywhere in canada.......all the cities are awesome.

For affordability stay away from Saskatchewan west to BC. Manitoba east is your best bet.
