I went to Orlando FL from Toronto, Canada and it cost me with exchange and taxes around $450 CN, for the trip from Halifax, it may be better to go to Boston and either fly or take Amtrak, it is a 30 hours trip, I inquire about Toronto to Orlando on Amtrak, it is a 22 hour trip, but the train gets to NYC after the last one to Florida leaves so you are force to sleep or walk around NYC for 11 hours, not something I wanted to do, the Greyhound to Florida from Ontario is a 21 hours trip with meal and other stops one the way, down the main highway I 75.
