Im thinking about relocating to Canada-good idea or not? Im from Ireland?

Also if you have any ideas about house prices renting, buying, mortages, I have good qualifications in mediation and conflict resolution any oppertunities you can tell me about-fellow canadians welcome!!!!

I lived in toronto for 5months but that was years ago and I loved it...i would be moving there with boyfriend. not sure where the best place to go would be really any place you would suggest?

Well, Canada is a HUGE country, so cost of living, rent, and real estate all change depending on where you decide to settle. The majority of larger cities all have Osprey Media online newspapers which offer rental adverts, job postings and will have links to directories for real-estate companies. I am not exactly sure what someone in your field does, so cannot answer your question about that. You will need to decide what part of the country you would like to live in, which province, and then narrow it down from there. Weather here differs from province to province, as well as services and just about everything else.................If you provide more details, I could give a better answer. Sorry if this does not help in the least.
*Toronto is an excellent place if you enjoy face-pace, and excitment. It is also a great place for looking for enployment. Its downfalls are crowding, high market prices for rentals and purchases, and high cost of living. It is one of the best examples of multiculturalism and diversity Canada has to offer. Toronto is not my kind of place, as I have children. I am from Niagara Falls, Ontario originally, but now live in North Bay Ontario, which is a nice sized city, but has many natural resources located within short distance.

My next door neighbour is from Ireland and has no regrets about moving to Canada.

House prices vary from province to province. Highest would be Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta. Cheaper down east in the Atlantic provinces but fewer job opportunities.

With respect to your qualifications, mediation and conflict resolution is primarily done by lawyers in Canada. You may want to contact a provincial bar association to determine where your qualifications fit in terms of pursuing that type of employment here.

Do you want to know why I came to Canada from England?

There is a good, fairly stable economy here in Ontario

Nice climate - we have lovely hot summers and cold, crisp winters

Canada is beautiful with lots of wide open spaces

Lots of room for everyone - England has about 800 people per square mile - Ontario has 9 people per square mile!

Low crime rate - Britain was going through a terrible time when I left

Money - you get more for your money here in Canada - housing is less expensive than the UK

Folks are friendly here

I knew that my children would have a better life here than if we stayed in England

Fairly good health care

I'm not sure about your qualifications, you may have to re-test once you get here.

Check out http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com - there is a lot of info on this site, which is about Travel & Tourism in the area of Southern Ontario where I live (yes, its my web-site)

You might find some info there that you might like - the climate, the economy, Nature & Wildlife, some of the towns & cities in the area.

Good Luck with your decision!
