I have a report on Austria due in like a week and a half. is it possible i could get help?

good useful things not stuff like that was a nazi country i know that....

Step One: go to your local library. Step Two: open an encyclopedia. Step Three: read up on the history, culture, arts, economy, geography, topography, etc. of Austria. That will show your teacher that you know how to do research instead of having the information spoon-fed to you by others. That's the real reason for the report.

That being said, a few things you might want to include: Mozart, Empress Maria Theresa, the history of Salzburg, the Spanish Riding School of Vienna (incl. why it's called that, and what happened during WWII, thanks to General Patton), the von Trapp Family (yes, 'The Sound of Music' is based on fact).

Good luck!!

Here's a quick bio of Austria:

In the 10th century, the German Babenberg dynasty acquired Vienna (capital of Austria and largest city) and the surrounding area and during their 300 year rule they turned it into a major trading centre. By 13th century, the Habsburgs gained control of Vienna. In 16th century, Turkish invasions attacked Vienna but were unsuccessful and were eventually defeated. They left bags of coffee beans behind - and ever since coffee has played an important part of Viennese history. After that invasion, Vienna flourished and became one of the major cultural and imperial highlights of Europe. Classical music grew here with the famous composers like Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, etc. Grand palaces and formal gardens were built, churches, squares, etc. Napoleon's occupation in 1809 and revolution in 1848 - were setbacks to the Habsburgs dynasty - as well as the assissination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the presumed heir to the throne. After World War I, the Habsburg Empire collapsed, and Vienna's role as an Imperial capital ended.
