What do you think about current migration levels in Australia?

Net migration in Australia is currently at a very high level. I realise that this is not an issue that is usually discussed in the media.

I am curious how others feel about current high migration levels.

Apologies if this sounds racist... but just because there are too many people in China and India, why should they come and over-populate Sydney and crowd all the people born here?
I think its up to a countries government to ensure that the population doesn't get out of control.. the government should not let the population get out of control just so the citizens can move and crowd other countries then they are no longer a problem for the original government that created the problem/let the problem get out of hand.

"The world should belong to all" If thats the case then I want to live in Bora Bora... sure its only a TINY TINY island with little modern infrastructure but why doesn't the whole world pack up and move there because its better than where you currently live? I think its unrealistic that the world should belong to all.....

The world should belong to all, adjustments within law and society should be made to allow for this, just my opinion though. If you think it's bad here, you should take a look at the UK's open door policy, and that country is tiny!!!!

ummm well i think it's too high
not being racist or anything cos i am asian but i just think it's getting weird to see so many asians in australia
like everywhere i look there's heaps

They should make it a bit stricter. I believe if your going to like in an English speaking country you should speak English.
e.g. I wouldn't move to France and expect everyone to learn English for me, I'd learn French to join their society.

I feel its far too high, many major cities infastructure just isnt able to keep up with this influx. And the housing situation isnt going to get any better by piling people into the already overcrowded cities - Sydney offers the best example of this. Once we sort out these issues, increase the rate i say.
