What are living costs like in NSW?

My fiance and I are English and currently planning to move to Australia, NSW in particular. She's a Doctor (been qualified and practicing for a couple of years), and I work in Admin for the local government here.

It's likely we might start in Newcastle, but we're keen to move to somewhere like Wagga or Griffith when she's qualified as a GP.

I was wondering if I could get an idea of what living costs for a couple are, and maybe what taxes might be like.

Thanks for any help in advance.

I am sixteen and I don't know much about taxes but I can tell you it is expensive to live in Sydney. I lived here all my life and I've seen prices increase on basic groceries such as eggs and milk several times a year.

People are now moving out of Sydney into other smaller regional centres such as Wollongong where the cost if living, I assume won't be as high.

It will be cheaper to live in regional nsw as opposed to Sydney and surrounding areas. Wagga would be a great choice rent is cheaper and living expenses. And to give you an amount on taxes i would need to know what roughly you are earning. say you made $1200 a week you would pay about $360 tax.
Hope this helped.
