Will I find it hard to get Admin work in somewhere like Newcastle?

My fiance and I are planning to move to australia, NSW in particular, and possibly Newcastle. She's a Doctor, so finding work for her is relatively easy.

However, I work in Admin, and don't have a degree or any outstanding educational achievements.

Will I struggle to find work? Also, what's an average salary for an administrator?

Unfortunately it is very hard to find long term employment in Newcastle unless you have a degree/qualification OR a government job (Even the government jobs there aren't real secure these days with technology taking over. My dad worked for CityRail as a signalman for over a decade and last year they replaced him with a computer. Also my mum is a primary school teacher but she's approaching 50 and the Education Department/School Principals are going for the younger teachers these days)

My whole immediate family live there except my husband and I - we live in Sydney. My sister has to travel to the central coast for work and its only part time! Her husband is a gyprocker who travels all around NSW for his work...

There isn't enough industry in Newcastle for there to be enough jobs for everyone...

Got a Friend in Newcastle and she is an office admin, she hasbeen looking for a job for a month without getting one.

Unfortunately, yes.

I moved from Newcastle to Sydney to get admin work because there is nothing available in Newie. And I probably had more experience and qualifications than you (no offence). It's so hard to even get a call back for an interview. If you do get to interview stage though, you've pretty much got the job.

I would recommend you look at more country / bush / inland regions. Your fiance will be welcomed with open arms and you are more likely to get a permanant position within a local company.
