Drive car Sydney Brisbane vv. Which way is safer? Pacific Highway or New England Highway?

New England Highway has less traffic but the majority of the Pacific Highway is now a 4 lane highway. If you are looking at travelling at night there is more chance of kangaroos via the New England Highway. The Pacific Highway is more of a straight through run and now bypases many towns but have large roadhouse service stations on the highway

Pacific H'Way more scenic. New England take longer as the journey takes around 14hrs non stop. Longer again if you stop over night at a cheap motel. It is faster and cheaper to fly.

I used to drive a semi too Brisbane and the Pacific is better.

pacific is faster and easier to follow, but not more scenic.
old england takes you through towns, doesnt just bypass them.
and i'd say all roads here re pretty well safe...

go pacific highway, its better road.

I drove from melb to brisbane on the Newel highway, don't ever drive that road, it's a death trap........

I would say the New England Highway is safer, as less traffic and less roadworks.
