How do you get from cairns to port douglas?

I am holidaying in Port Douglas later this month and need to get from Cairns Airport to Port Douglas - what is the easiest and/or cheapest way to do this?

Taxi is WAY to expensive - don't even go there!

If you are hiring a car, go to the google search engine, click on google maps, the get directions. type in start and end locations and it will tell you exactly how to get there and how long it will take. I'm going there in 5 weeks so done a lot of seaching!!! :-) xx Report It

I would catch a taxi or a coach.Coaches run everywhere up there. Have fun .

Either rent a car or catch a bus as the drive isn't that long. Forget about the taxi.

Take a bus. Much cheaper than a cab any day.

Bus or hiring a car are really the only ways to get there (excluding millionaires on yachts and helicopters). Buses go regularly from Cairns to Port Douglas and it should only take about an hour to travel there.
There is no train line north of Cairns.

Some hotels provide pick up service from airport. Check it out is yours will do that.
