Why would you go to Southeast asia?

OK..I'm supposed to write something about..why you would choose to visit southeast asia?

I'm kind of lost..because i've never actually been to any of those countries....

so I f anyone could please help me out...just give me an idea..of the scenery..the people...basically why you'd visit it...I can work from there...

thank you!

I think Southeast Asia offers good value-for-money attractions for tourists and visitors. Both, the natural and the man-made are unique.

For non-business visitors from the West in particular, SE Asia would not be the choice region for shopping sprees, 5-star accommodation and fine living (although they exist); what attracts are nature and culture based.

What's 'unique':

- million year-old jungle in East/Peninsular Malaysia (Borneo) is a topdraw for European ecotourists;
- variety of sea-based activities offers good recreation esp in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines; as well as the colourful culture of tribal ethnic groups inland;
- uniqueness of cultures esp in Indo-China region: Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma
- laidback, inexpensive lifestyle in relatively safe environment.

I won't list "nightlife" as a SE Asian attraction because they are confined to only a couple of cities - they continue to attract westerners seeking the less-than-kosher pleasures. And nobody checks out a SE Asian country specifically for food; infact they are generally cautious.

The women, the scenery, the women, the culture, did I mention the women?

South-East Asia is a collection of dissimilar but not unrelated states squeezed between the twin giants of India and China. SE Asia has long been a favorite corner of the world for globe-tramping backpackers; well-known for its perfect beaches, tasty cuisine, low prices, and good air connections.

Countries:
* Brunei - tiny oil-rich sultanate in Borneo

* Cambodia - recovering from decades of war and home of Angkor

* East Timor - one of the world's newest states, at the eastern tip of Indonesia

* Indonesia - the giant of the region, with more than 18,000 islands and a population of over 240 million

* Laos - the forgotten, but growing, country of South-East Asia, landlocked by Cambodia, China, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam

* Malaysia - multicultural country covering the skyscrapers of KL and the jungle headhunters of Borneo

* Myanmar (Burma) - military dictatorship open to the adventurous traveller

* Philippines - freewheeling former Spanish and American colony with over 7,100 islands and beautiful tropical beaches

* Singapore - clean and orderly island-city state

* Thailand - the most popular destination in the region

* Vietnam - firmly marching down the long road to capitalism

interesting.
u r writing something that many has written long before you.
i suggest u refer lonely planet coz they have the details of things to do and see. that would you the idea.
alternatively just scan and copy the book and save you the hassle of writing and thinking.

Why would people want to go to New York when South East Asia has so much more to offer? But since you have admitted that you have never been to this part of the world I will not press further.
Its a huge place with different background, language, culture and many more. The first thing you should is to get hold of books written on these countries to get the feel of it and start from there. Perhaps land in Bangkok and make it your base as accommodation, food and others are cheaper there.
There are so much to write and I think its best you find it out yourself. But one thing I can tell you, that people from Southeast Asia are far more friendly than those from the West and New York included. Happy writting and don`t forget to come down to Singapore. It will be a big surprise to you. You just wait to see for yourself.

because Southeast Asia has diverse cultures, so many islands, warm people and women, so many different ethnic groups, and most of all---we have the best tropical not-too-cold and not-too-hot climate, plus lots of the world's most beautiful white-sand beaches in Boracay, Bali, Phuket...

The questions should be, why not visit Southeast Asia?

by the way, if you're in the Philippines, suggest you stay at Green Mango Inn at 365 Aguirre Avenue (near El Grande avenue & 7 houses from BPI Family Bank), BF Homes, Sucat, Para帽aque City, Metro Manila. their email is gh_realty@yahoo.com some of my foreign visitors have stayed there, nice, nearest 4 airports for your next flights to Boracay and other isles, plus affordable rooms...

You should also visit Boracay and Palawan in the Philippines

The Federated States of Micronesia or The Northern Mariana Islands on the Island of Tinian, in Southeast Asia, looks like Hawaii. Tinian as you know is the Old Army Base where the Enola Gay flew from North Field to bomb Hiroshama and Nagasaki. I was there working in a Casino, search the web for Tinian and Tinian Casino. It is where the major war was fought in WWII. You could write a book about this lovely, peaceful, beautiful island. I would love to go back and live there. You can ask nearly anyone where Tinian is and they will most likely say, where? I hope they are teaching this important history is schools now, it's a shame we have not been taught more about these very important islands, where we won the war in Japan I you need help finding pic, just let me know and I will find you some beautiful places and stories to write about. The islands are a 45 min. flight from Guam.

I like the Asian women

You can see and experience things that you could never do at home!

Also - stretching your dollar! Southeast Asia is cheaper than many places in the world!

I can fly from Boston to Bangkok and stay for 3 weeks cheaper than I can fly to California and stay only one week!

do you want to see the Angkor Wat, the world largest religious temple in the world ?
do you want to see a lot of great temples built by the great kings even the king of Egypt cant effort with secret and complicated plan?
do you want to know how the Ancient Empire started war or made war to control most of those part in Southeast Asia(Khmer Empire)
much more...
if you want to know all these, The best place to visit is Angkor wat temple in Siem Reap. and the beach in Shiahanouk Ville, very natural beach, alot of places to visit but it depend on the time you have, if you want to see the VERY natural mountain or forest it takes you so much time but i can recommend you somewhere like Pailin in Battambang Province(waterfall, Blue Mountain ....), Rattanakiri and Modulkir (waterfall, natural mountain, wildlife....) very very green country.

acutally there is no difficult rule for you to be aware of. The big thing is you have to aware of is accused of being sex with children.

The Hotel rate is cheap, you can find it every where when you reach Phnom Penh, guest house is more cheaper.

everything here is not expensive at all.
people are very nice and their english not bad.
