Taiwan should join the ASEAN and be recognized as independent.?

I think Taiwan should join the ASEAN since it people share a common linguistic and cultural heritage with South East Asia. The Malays of SEA descended from the
"Austronesians" of Taiwan hence Taiwan is the Malay & Polynesian people's ancestral homeland.

For SEA, not recognizing Taiwan = Insult to your Ancestors.

I don't know where you got the information from but the vast majority Taiwanese are NOT of S.E. Asia origin. They look more like the Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans.
