What are your favourities cities in the Far East?

Mine are Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong in that order.

I lived in big cities in Japan many years and before I left the East I went to Cebu, Philippines for a few months. Cebu is the second biggest city in the Philippines, but doesn't have the maddness of metro-Manila.
From Cebu you can easily go to most of the holiday resorts. It's English speaking; the people are amansingly friendly, but it's a genuine friendliness, not the fake smiles and book politeness of the Japanese. I think it's the influence of the Christian culture that makes the Filipino people different from the other Asian peoples of the East.
You have to have money though, it's a poor third world country, and take the necessary safety precaussions, but if you have money, you can find anything there you find in the West, but cheaper.
I got sick there and the Filipino nurses and doctors are the most caring I've ever seen.
