Southeast asian economy is emerging except laos, cambodia, myanmar and east timor, can anyone tell why?

in behalf of their emerging neighbor countries why are these countries still left behind?

Corruption is a big one. I mean, even if you're a company that wants to build a school in Laos, you'll still have to bribe people. Charity...and you're still bribing people. Another big thing is people there will complain, but wont' do anything about it. The thinking is, you do enough work to survive, and take the rest of the day off. Which is great cause you can relax, but you aren't going anywhere.

in Cambodia i know clear, but other country i am not sure about.
The Answer is Corruption. Corruption every where in cambodia, if you want to invest on something you have to pay from low to high level people to get the minister sign it. it all the f*** process. when you meet the one who charge of this they will say to you " if you want to run a business on that how much you gonna pay me?" but when you have good relationship with them , this stuff is not hard to solve. this is the major reason.

the prime minister stays in power long time, installed by Vietnam government, if you are a country, you want another country find money for you i dont think you choose the well-educated person to control that country.. hope you understand this.

The country you list are always have the problem with internal democratic, race war, and demontration every where.
They have no time to prepare their economic and only think about the power, authority and position.
The people feel the president still not fear and they have no a good live , so people aways demonstration and need their good live but its not give and can't solve the problem.

So the investor don't want invest to their country to get a good contribution and to make a money, the investor worried about the intern political and feell not safe if invest to their county.

The economic can growth up if the country is safe, peace and no war and can guarantee the investor and if the investor come to their contry off courst can make a good contribution.

The East Timor is a new country and they still prepare their contry and so many revolting there.
