Traveling to Pakistan?

I am a non-Pakistani planning a trip to Pakistan with my Pakistani wife. Is this adviseable given the current situation? Does it matter that I am a non-Pakistani (I am European) and will they treat Pakistanis differently, or is it dangerous regardless of race? Ideas, opinions are appreciated.

Man people will praise you their for just being white...lol I serious, am not kidding...even if an pakistani goes back home from usa they treat em like a king....i dunno why they do that..but they do...they'll treat u with respect...ask your wife..i dunno when she went back to pak...but she'd tell u how good the locals r there... and also as the person above me said...its just bad in the tribal areas...
You'll love islamabad cuz its juz like here with the pakistani touch, go to lahore for the food and you'll love the historic sites its a very traditional sorta town yet vibrant with colours, n then KARACHI a city u must go to!! its very modern...u wud hate the traffic...but ud just love it there...
but keep one thing in mind...go after the elections! juz to be oon the safer side!!

The situation in Pakistan is bad in only FATA or tribal areas of Pakistan and only for targeted people like President Musharraf etc.
