Why does Philippines and Mexico have so many children??

why do this 2 countries have a lot of children , some even live in slum areas, Is Catholicism the cause of their problem, their influences under spain??

catholicism, i think... because abortion is a crime in cathoic countries.

If you look at the numbers, middle eastern and northern African countries have more children. Traditionally Arab countries. For example, The birthrate in Yemen is 3 times higher than in Mexico, and twice as high as the Phillipines. Countries like Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Syria all have more children than the countries you mentioned.

No, it is not just about religion. There is something before the religion.

They keep making children until they get male baby to keep their continuity of their family name.

Also if they have boys, they can get help from boys in their line of work.

Some still belief that if you have a lot of children, you will get prosperity. Rhere are a lot of children will take care of you when you are old and very depending.

Most likely children will take care of their parents especially male first born child.

This is not fron Spain, this is from China mainland.

Some of the local traditions dovetail rather nicely with the Catholic distate for birth control in most of it's forms.

Once they're born no one gives a damn about them.
