What is the cost of living in Bali?

I am thinking of going to Bali. I need to know the cost of living for example food and drink etc. I live in the UK so a conversion in GBP would prove helpful

It all depends on what sort of Bali experience you want. The first time I went to Bali I got a flight from the UK arriving at about 6pm not knowing anything.After one night in Kuta ( touristy Australian), I went up to Ubud and lived native in a homestay B&B with pigs and chickens next door.I traveled all over the south eastern part and had a great time.This was about 15 years ago. The second time Ubud was much more touristy and wasn't as good. ( also I got a virus)

Bali is beautiful and if you find a village home stay and avoid the boozy tourists you will be safe and enjoy a whole new world.This wont be expensive and the scenery is exquisite as are the people. Go with the flow and respect the customs and this will stay with you for life.

PS Dont forget to look out for the real ( ie.non tourist) carvings and paintings. I still have some in pride of place at home

Well cheap. People earn around 拢1 a day. Beer a little cheaper than the UK but food, very cheap. Hotels if you book when you get there from 拢1.50 a day. For 拢3 or 拢4 you can get a very nice air-conditioned hotel. Transport and petrol, very cheap. You will have to haggle in shops. It a beautiful place with beautiful people. You will have a wonderful time.

I GBP equal to approx 15,000 IDR.
So let say you stay in hotel 3-4 stars (they normally using USD)...it'll cost you around 100-200 USD depending on which hotel you stay.
Eat...some good cafe around Seminyak...you will get very decent meal (main course) 100-150k which is only 10 GBP.
Drinks...soft drink are sold in 10K IDR to 20K IDR which is only 1-2 GBP
If you rent daily car...it will cost you around 300-500k IDR depending on car's brand and year
Buttom line is.....your trip to Bali will be bloody cheap

FOr 3 start Hotel - cost US$ 75 - 150 / night
4 and 5 star Hotel - US$ 200 - 300 / night - depent the room

For Rent car - IDR 200,000 / day (exclude driver and fuel)
IDR 350,000 - 400,000 / 8 hours (include driver & fuel)

For food is very cheaper - its only IDR 20,000 for fast food
And the food in Cafe, bar, Hotel or good restaurant US$ 6 - 15
Depent the menu and varient.

For entry ticket to the tour location is some of location is free and some location - like "Besakih" Temple, Uluwatu Temple, Kintamani lake - its only IDR 2,000

For Water boom - US$ 65
For Buggy Jumping US$ 75 - 125 / jump depend the kind of jumping
For water activity - Surfing, snorkling, parasailing, jetsky US$ 16 - 25 / hour

1GBP = IDR 16,000
