How is life in kuching sarawak?

i am hoping to go to kuching to get my digree ... how is life like over there? the night life? the locals? food? is it safe?

kuching is pretty much like kl in all aspects
the night life is great as there are lots of tourists there
food is wonderful and lots of great places to hang out such as the waterfront area
the locals are nicer and friendlier that people in kl
overall,it's a wonderful experience living there (especially if you have a car or any kind of transport)
oh,don't forget to venture out at the waterfalls,beaches,etc

it will be awkward at first but most of my friends from the peninsular absolutely love it there

as it's indonesian the people are very warm and friendly, a very relaxed indo-malay lifestyle, easy going, tropical climate around 30-32 degrees 24/7 and very humid, like a big tropical greenhouse. It's safe, all kinds of delicious asian foods available, of course fish and seafood in abundance and cheap, some fast foods like KFC. It's not an excessive nightlife as it's a muslim country, at least not very public you'll find the chinese areas where they have bars and everything else attributed to enjoying yourself and some hotels have beerbars inside.
