Must see places in Argentina?

Hey, I'm travelling to Argentina next year in winter (Aug-September) and would be grateful for first hand knowledge of where are the best places to visit here. I've wanted to go all my life and really want to visit Buenos Aires and would love to venture into Patagonia.

Is it dangerous in Patagonia in winter (i.e.icy roads etc) and hard to get about transport wise?

Also how much should I budget per day?

Thanks.

Hi! Welcome to Argentina.
In Buenos Aires you can go sightseeing almost everywhere, and everything is either cheap or free.
Places to go:
San Telmo
Recoleta and a tour to the cemetery.
La Boca (The famous soccer stadium. try to watch a game theere too. Also, visit Caminito in La Boca)
Puerto Madero.
Plus, there are a lot of museums down here, one of the newest is the MALBA.
Without including hotel, you might do more than fine with 30 dollars per day.
In Patagonia, visit El Calafate, El glaciar Perito Moreno, Nahuel Huapi Lake and National Park (rumor has it that we have a monster inside the lake, called Nahuelito, kinda like the loch ness monster hehe),Bariloche, Villa La Angostura and San Martin de los Andes. (Those last three are really close to each other, about 2 hours driving)
Patagonia is more expensive, specially if you visit in winter, which is High Season.
Plan to spend 40 to 50 dollars at least per day, not including hotel expenses.
About danger in Patagonia, is the same as any other place with snow.
About transportation, you have daily flights to Bariloche and Calafate. From there you can take buses and even take a boat to visit Nahuel Huapi.
Have a nice and safe trip!!!

thank you!!! Have fun down here!! Report It

Foz do Iguacu, on the border with Brazil (I don't know the Spanish spelling)

Niagra looks like a bathtap in comparison to Iguacu. It will pop your eyes clean out of your sockets. It is one of the earth's most astonishingly beautiful places. See it from the Brazilian side on the first day, Argentinian on the second.

Hi

There are lots of things to see and do in Buenos Aires, and at that time of the year Patagonia is great for skiing. The roads won麓t be dangerous unless there麓s a huge snow storm, but anyway the best way to get to Patagonia from Buenos Aires is by plane since it麓s along distance.
It is also a good time of the year to visit some of the northern regions of Argentina, like Iguazu Falls, or the Northern provinces of Salta and Jujuy.
As for the budget, it all depends on where you will be staying, but for food and transportation I guess you won麓t be spending more than 30US$ per day.
