Can you drink alcohol in Tanzania?

I am traveling to Dar As Salaam in Tanzania and would like to know if alcohol is legal and widely available?

Yes, you can drink alcohol. Being drunk in public however, is extremely frowned upon, and you may find it more difficult to buy alcohol in Muslim parts of Tanzania. Drink drugging of tourists in tourist areas, followed by robbery, does occur - watch your drinks at all times.

yes you can , i work out here and you can get blinding drunk every night if you want , but be careful in Dar , stick to the hotels
