Palestine Intl Hotel

we were there for two weeks and I couldn't be more complimentary of the employee's, you could tell they really wanted to keep there jobs regardless of the circumstances. We were given complimentary burka's for our safety, alla forgive they find out we where white men from the U.S . with the burka's came those stain remover sticks for those occasional blood spatters. When the Electricity went out for more than three hours they would remove all t.v's and electrical appliances from our rooms so we would not even notice the outage, they were always thinking of us. there was no air conditioning so the pool was a refreshing option, they went as far as to make it romantic as possible , with the pink hew of the water and all. leaving was hard, we felt very lucky, only one person was killed on the property during our entire stay. good luck !

Al Mansour Hotel

Hotel Ishtar

I stayed at this hotel well deployed with the United States Army to Iraq. Besides the sound of gun fire the dead bodies and the car bombings outside the hotel I loved everyday I stayed there.



Al Sadeer Hotel

1.I lived here from 10/2004- 03/2006 while working in Baghdad. The place was attacked by suicide bombers three times: 03/05, 07/05 and 10/05 and while folks were killed and injured each time, the structure held and all that was damaged was glass. That included one attack of nearly two tons of high explosive detonated against the northwest side at about 50' of standoff distance. Thanks for building such a strong building Mr. Sepeda!!!

2.Great security as all the patrons have their own weapons.

Pool table needed to be leveled, and a straight cue would have been nice. Too many distractions to really concentrate on a good game anyway due to IED's, mortars and RPG's.

Windows were loose from past attacks so bring your own duct tape to seal up the cracks when the sandstorms come.

Haji food takes some time to get used to but all in all who knows what the chefs are really putting in it....hungry is hungry, AND DON'T DRINK THE WATER!!!
