Does anyone know the average size of school classes in the GAMBIA,?

i have 30 small calculators to give out when we visit next week and i dont want anyone to miss out.
will i need more?
i,m thinking of the 8 / 12 years of age range or are the classes age difference different to here in the uk
thanks

In villages, you'll be safe with 30. in town, it will depend.
BTW: Calculator is one thing: kids need to know how to use them? how to change batteries (and can they afford the batteries?) and also how to store them (batteries leak more easily over there! - dorp it in sand and kiss it good bye!) don'tr forget to give one to the teacher!!!!

I've been to a school in Gambia where we gave out paper/pencils etc 30 seems a good number. From memory the classes we visited maybe had less than 30 - 20 or so pupils. But this could vary greatly with each school. Do you know which school you are going to visit? You could get in touch with the head teacher in advance.

You think that will make you a wonderful person?Having some little black kids revering you for giving them white mans magic.
Grow up man, there are people in england who dont have calculators.

You'll never supply the whole country...you'll come across children with their hands out for sweets, pencils etc wherever you stop. You are doing a worthwhile thing...well done.
