The continent of africa begging bowl?

NIGERIA, vast oil reserves?
SOUTH AFRICA, gold, diamond's, etc/
NAMIBIA, vast diamond's area?
Huge copper mines,
Wealth of Wild life,
history for tourism?

Tens of Million's of pound's from live aid, band aid etc?
Now they are asking people to donate a Monthly sum to feed the masses DO YOU THINK THEY ARE ON A GOOD THING

i am reminded that most people from europe including uk look on africa as a place where tarzan (this is not a pun or snide remark) used to live and is undeveloped this is far from the truth, there are cities that are better planned and developed than ours, look to the wrong doer's MUGGABE, ZAMBIA and other leaders that have access to the millions we have donated and probably used it to buy weaponry?it is time for the ordinary to stand up now because we
are not a bottomless pit?

All those things you mentioned are making millionaires out of a limited few and many of those are foreigners.
The poorest of Africans do need help, but who can you trust to distribute your donations to the needy?
These people advertising on TV aren't going hungry from giving aid.

All of those VAST resources that you named, have been RAPED from the land by greedy white men from ALL countries who went to Africa to exploit both the people and their land........leaving them in total devastation.

Begging Bowl? I wouldn't call it that, I'd be more inclined to say that all the thieves who STOLE from the people SHOULD be more than willing to pay back in any way they can.

Once again, we see on a large scale......."man's inhumanity to his fellow man."

I think it is flippant to suggest they are on to a good thing. However, in my rather long lifetime, I have seen numerous crises, which the world has tried to help with. Masses is sent in aid every year and still nothing changes. It is undoubtedly a bottomless pit and I don't really know the answers. My own family is stuggling due to the mismanagement of this country and I believe that charity begins at home. Britain is a small island and we can't carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. I understand that we have been involved in asset stripping in the past but those times have gone and the current population cannot be held responsible.

When my kids were at Primary school, they saved up to help the african families.
They sent money to oxfam to buy a cow, a plough, and several bags of grain to plant.
They sent a letter a year later to see how the crops had harvested, and how the families were managing.
They recieved a letter from oxfam thanking them for their enquiry, but regretted to have to tell them that the families were still starving as they had eaten the grains they sent, killed and eaten the cow and sold the plough for yet more grain to eat.
The kids were distraught and bought the africans nothing else.
I guess they were too busy begging to get off their backsides and do some work and help themselves.

yes i do the mineral wealth of Africa is vast its a pity they dont get off their asses and do a days work //ive lived there
