Can an Irianian visit the USA?

I have a friend from Iran who has never been to the U.S. Will his country allow him to visit America? And how does he go about getting a visa from Iran to America? And how hard would it be to get one?

Okay, so how hard would it be to get a visa to UAE? Does Iran have good relations with them?

Yes he can.

Your friend's nearest application posts are the US Embassies in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Another location is the US Consulate in Dubai where most of the applicants are Iranians.

The application is by appointment and your friend can have the appointment by visiting their website.

Fees are transacted through the appointed national banks and all the lists of documents required for certain nationalities are also posted in the website.

The problem is how your friend being an Iranian can travel to Bahrain or UAE first. They should have a visit visa first to Bahrain and UAE prior to arrival to these places as the US has no diplomatic relationship exists between the US and Iran.

EDIT No. 1

It's not that hard really. All your friend needs is to approach a travel agency based in Dubai by emailing them or local travel agency in Tehran for the UAE Visa or any hotel in the UAE where your friend would like to stay.

Otherwise, he can check with Emirates Airlines website and check the Marhaba Services for the Visa on Arrival possibility.

Depending on his age, I would look into some sort of student visa to study here.

yeah, he has to goto the closest american embassy to get a visa...and he'll need a passport.

why not...

Iran allows Iranians to visit America...he can only leave the country if he has completed his military service (he can only get a passport after that) but it's extremely difficult for Iranians to get visas for the US- extremely hard!! He would probably have to have a letter of invitation and a good reason to go (visit family).

He'll have to go to Abu Dabhi or Ankara and apply for one- but he'll have to have proof of funds (alooooot) and proof that he'll return (letter from workplace that he's still employed, a deed if he owns a house, etc...). Iranians can easily get visas to UAE... I think they don't need visas for Turkey either.
