The capital is AMMAN.

Jordan is parted into "governorates"(roughly equivalent to counties) and each of them has its seat of government in the largest city.
The city in Jordan whose name is also a common Arabic word is Zarqa, it is the capital of the Zarqa governorate and it means "blue" in Arabic.
