Where can I find info on Senegal security as a country?

Terriorism, bombing, kidnapping, and petty theft

If you stay in the main tourist areas along the coast, Senegal is a nice and safe country to visit. But, if you don't speak French, please consider visiting The Gambia instead.

The American CIA's World Factbook.

Hi!
I've been to Senegal fairly recently. Its one of the most stable and prosperous in West Africa, so you needn't worry at all about bombing, terrorism and kidnapping. As with any developing country, petty theft is likely so obviously take normal precautions with your belongings in your accommodation and when walking around in the street. Have a look at:
http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?page...
Don't pay any attention to the part about 'underlying threat of terrorism', the FCO actually put that on nearly every country's page. It has never happened there.
You'll want to avoid the Casamance region in the south though, that is not a safe place. I lived in neighbouring Guinea-Bissau for a while, which is a less safe country, and even there was discouraged from going into Casamance. There is a separatist movement there, so armed guerillas and some landmines still. But if you avoid this region, and go with a sense of adventure and smattering of French I'm sure you'll have a blast!
