Hi, Can anyone confirm what innoculations you need to enter Ghana?

Also do you require a visa nad if so how much do they cost.

I live in Ghana, so perhaps I can answer your question. The only immunization you MUST have is for Yellow Fever. All of the other recommendations of the CDC are just that, recommendations.

You will need a visa, unless you are coming from an Ecowas country, and if you have to ask what that is, then likely you are not from one. In the US and UK, there are Ghana Embassies and Consultates (in the US, NYC, Washington, DC and Houston).

Yellow fever vaccination is needed and a malaria prophylaxis is recommended if embarking in the US.

Visa can be obtained upon arrival and will cost you about $100.

Check with the State Department for additional details.

It depends where you are coming from/what passport you hold, whether or not you need a visa. The Ghanaian Embassy in whatever country you are in will be able to tell you.

The CDC site is the best for innoculations. But the basics are yellow fever, typhoid, mmr, meningitis, hepatitis A and B, polio, tetanus, and then malaria meds, which you take with you. In the US, most of these vaccines aren't covered by insurance and they can get quite expensive, all together.
