Leaving Nigeria?

My girl friend went to Nigeria (she is australian) i hope to marry this year to visit her grand mother. now she is trying to leave - but thanks to a very corrupt Govt this may not happen.the govt has up all fees 3x time on top of what she has paid (bta,customs, justice dept) in the interium her grand mother went to hoispital now claiming 8000.00 which she doesn't have and will not negotiate to pay part now and when she gets back where she has the money - they have also blocked her from leaving i ask you what sort of corrupt govt does Africa run - quick to ask help for the dam refugees - i know i will not donate ANY money if it goes to Africa- SORT there own problems out first

There are no fees to be paid when entering or leaving Nigeria. Fees to customs officers are optional; they'd of course like a few dollars for not going through your luggage, but nothing happens if you don't pay.

BTA is a scam and the Justice Dept. is not involved in clearing air passengers before departure.

The Nigerian govt. may be corrupt, but in this particular case, it is your 'girlfriend' who's been taking you for a ride.
