Is it possible to fly to Darfur? If not, what would i need to use to get there? Howlong would the journey tak

I know i shouldn't go there by myself. However, i want to know for hypothetical reasons.

Darfur is basically a war zone.

Don't go there unless you are going with an organization that arranges your transportation.

OK, a hypothetical trip would mean flying to Khartoum, Sudan. There are commercial flights to Khartoum, but you almost certainly need a visa. You apply for a visa at the Sudanese Embassy is the country where you live. Getting a visa probably won't be easy as you will be refused unless you have a valid reason for going (Sudan is not a tourist-friendly country).

Flying from the USA to Khartoum takes about 24 hours of traveling but is fairly straightforward - British Midland Airways flies between London and Khartoum and there are flights to London from everywhere..

Getting to Darfur would be a problem. Note that Darfur is a region and not a specific place. The only "city" in the area is Niyala and there don't seem to be scheduled flights. That means taking ground transport. Ther are certainly buses. It is about 1000km (600 miles) from Khartoum to Niyala, and that could take days.
