Wish you a nice trip!

from others on the Syrian reviews

1.
the airport is not would you expect. The airport staff are unfriendly.
the city is crowded, not clean and almost chaos everywhere.
if you are with your girlfriend, be careful on the street from syrians picking on her or touching her.
the experience was bad all in all
hotel was so, so but room has bad smell and too much noise from the street
2.
damascus has some nice places, my favourite was the ummayad mosque, sayadnaya church and the souk. The rest is too dirty, no cleanliness, too hot in the summer and some people are very rude. the only reason i go there is because i have cousins that live there and my aunt and uncle, if i did not have them i dont think i woudl go so many times.
3,
I can't say anything bad about syria. I go there every summer and it gets really fun there!!! :) It's also very historic... It's the oldest city in the world!!! Isn't that cool! I love going to syria because of many reasons... It's historic, most of my relatives live there, and it's fun. I never get bored. In ramadan everyone is so happy! I lived there for a year and wish I was there now... But oh well... :( I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL I GO BACK THERE!
4.
homs is a wonderful city..and i was surprised that not too much trips pass throw it..you really don't wanna miss it.
i visited the muesem of the city by my self..and i spent there three hours with out finishing it..there are many other places there too..you can spend there the whole day between ALzahrawi palace "old arabic style palace",for shopping:ALdablan "modern market" and naowra market "old popular market",and for THE VERY BEST SYRIAN FOOD : Bet alagha restaurant or Julia Domna palace and these are both old arabic style restaurants...and for express food many other restaurents...

Syria is actually a very safe middle-eastern country. Do not be fooled by the media or news in the west. There are no bombs and there is no war there. I lived in Syria for 6 years, the last time i visited was 2004 and it was very safe. Since you are a girl, you have to avoid some streets (particularly, poorer neighbourhoods) because some guys will hit on you and try to pick you up. But, they're just having fun, they wont kidnap or nething that serious. However, u nver know.
