How can you tell for sure you are being scamed?

is lagos nigeria a bad place for scammers

No it's a good place for scammers - it's full of them!

Seriously, don't touch anything from Nigeria. You will be asked to send money, and if you go there to try to get it back, you will be kidnapped for ransom. Or killed.

So that's somewhere to avoid, in my book.

If people you have never met in person ask you to send them money via Western Union.

There are many scammers based in West Africa.
