Carnevale starts in a couple of weeks. The celebration in florence isn't one of the most famous in Italy, but it is interesting.

The three Wise Man procession was just held last Sunday.

The Florence Tango Festival is every April. I haven't personally seen that though.

The Rificolona festival in September is picturesque - there's a parade of children carrying lanterns.
