Outlet in Florence?

Wht is the best outlet in Florence? Is it the 1 in Leccio? How to get there without joining a tour? Wht is the opening times of the outlet? Any other suggestions?Thx

there is one which is not exactly in florence but it's not that far. the place is called Berberino del Mugello and you can get there driving. You can't get lost, believe me, you only have to take the highway, diretion Bologna. it's about 20 Km from Florence. Here is the website of the outlet
http://www.mcarthurglen.it/index.php?lan... so you can see what brands you can find there. click on "come arrivare" to get the directions. if you decide to go and need something to be translated, just ask, i'll do my best.

There is a fine one fm Prada (about 40 min. drive) but pls check yourself on the Net: Super bag's,shoes etc. Advise you not to go on a tour-bus (too crowded). They close early on Saturday's.

Hope it helps.

I went to the Leccio outlet last year. It's very easy and cheap to get there by bus. It has many of the top brands like Gucci, Ferragamo...also Lora Piano and Burberry. The prices are still expensive but better than retail. Then you can claim the VAT refund when you leave the E.U. The advantage of Leccio is the one-stop shopping and easy access. Be sure to go early before all the merchandise is picked over.

I also went to the Prada outlet last year by train then taxi. It's a pain to get to but their prices tend to be better. The trip is only worth it if you buy a lot of stuff since you've shelled out money for the train tix and roughly 22 Euros for the roundtrip taxi fare.

This summer, I rented a car and drove to the Prada outlet. It was under renovation and had fewer items than before. It might be a good idea to call them before you plan to go because stuff in Italy closes without notice.
