Nice places to stay in Edinburgh please!!!? |
Probably going to have to be apartments as there may be a few of us, in August some time... no Premier Travel Inn suggestions please!!! ;p I have looked on booking.com and laterooms.com but thought opinions from people living in or around Edinburgh would be helpful to get a better idea. I always go to the Apex International on the grass market there are two of them there and you will get cheaper deals booking on line or early yes it is a bit more expensive but you are right in the centre pubs shops the tourist attractions no taxis needed the hotel has a swimming pool gym food is brilliant the breakfast is well worth getting up for Evan when you have a hangover right across the road from the castle and the views are fantastic ,the clubs are just up the road within short walking distance ,this hotel no soap no shampoo towels water needle threads iron hair dryers plasma TV DVD player Evan a wee complementary rubber duck tea coffee hot chocolate biscuits its all provided for free great hotel and you will return also 24hr bar and room service and free news paper on Sundays have a great time Do a google search on 'Edinburgh apartments'. You'll find plenty of websites that do apartments. Also book now because August gets very busy. Sometimes the university rent out their student accomodation out of term time. People living in Edinburgh don't often have the need to book a hotel in Edinburgh. Not sure about apartments but both the novotel & point hotels are nice and since they are between the old town and the red light district they are quite cheap (the area is still nice) you can get a room for about 拢60 and the staff are very friendly and helpful, very modern hotels, 5 minute walk from George Street and the cocktails in the bar are to die for. Try this site I have stayed at the Novatel and it is really nice. It also is fairly close to the Royal mile & Prince's Street, and it's a pretty walk to them. best live south of city maybe borders only 1 hour drive wonderful Edinburgh!!! Try the Edinburgh EICC Hotel Desk website. It covers top hotels, down to the budget options.. all with pretty good rates.. Presuming that you don't have to worry too much about the cost: The McDonald hotel at Holyrood is nice and in a great spot! The Roxburgh hotel at the west end is also nice. Le Monde on George street is lovely! I wouldn't leave it much longer if you want a nice place to stay! City is very, very busy in August! Have a good trip. PS We don't all hate the English! Try somewhere like St Giles Apartments on the Royal Mile. It's right across from St Giles Cathedral and literally minutes from Edinburgh Castle and Waverley Station. They hate the English. |
