Train service Heathrow to Edinburgh?

What does it cost and how long does it take? Are there sleeper cars?

Or should I plan on flying? How much, how long?

By plane it will take 1 hour, by train kings x to edinburgh 5 to 6 hours and yes overnight sleepers are available kings x to edinburgh or euston to Glasgow depends on how quick you want to get there in.Prices depend on how far ahead you book both by plane and train.

It'd probably be easier to fly. It'd only take you an hour. The train service in the UK is dire, uncomfortable, slow and expensive!

(I do wish prople would stop making these generalised unfair criticisms of our railway system - See arr harr's answer above- It isn't perfect but there are few countries in the world which have as dense and frequent a network as us).
You would need to come into central London from Heathrow (PIccadilly Line Heathrow to Kings Cross) Day time trains from Kings Cross to Edinburgh are operated by National Express East Coast trains, run frequently and take between 4 hours 15 minutes and 4 hours 50 minutes. www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com. Advance purchased tickets are cheaper than those bought at the time of travel. Night sleeper services are operated by Scotrail from
Euston Station. www.firstgroup.com/scotrail. If you are visiting Britain from another country a 'Britrail' pass bought prior to arrival is a very inexpensive way of travelling around the country by train. www.britrail.com

Flying is much better and when you tot everything up it will also be cheaper. If you are fying BA then special rates ar on the shuttle.

Fly. It's cheaper.
