I'm trying to find a double room for no more than 拢25ppppn without it being a flea-bitten hostel - any luck finding anything, anyone? Tips from last year? I'm a landlord and could give you a lovely double-room for the festival in 2008 (preferably a decent stretch, for example 2 weeks) for 拢39 per night. You get a large double room, with wardrobes and desk. House has iving-room, dining-room, kitchen (microwave, oven, cooker, fridge-freezer, etc), wi-fi broadband, cable TV on 24" widescreen. And a garden.
The house may be 2 miles south of Princes Street, but is 100 yards from a bus stop which gets you there in 10-15 minutes. A taxi from Princes Street costs about 拢7.50. For that type of money without a hostel you'll gave to travel to Portobello for a B&B 10 mins on bus they have bus night service to there as well. However it will be more like 拢30-35 pppn. If you're not confident about booking online there's a telephone central booking system (automated) BUT be aware whether you book online of by telephone your card gets charged when you book.
