Traveling to Ecuador, wondering what immunizations to get? |
I'm traveling down to Santa Cruz, Ecuador for a mission trip during spring break. I was wondering what I should get immunized for and any other health recommendations and precautions I can take to be ready. Thanks. Check with the website for the US Center for Disease Control or your national health service to see what they recommend. Here's the CDC page on that: http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/contentVaccin... A travel medicine doctor can tell you what you need and administer the vaccinations and any prescriptions you need. Usually people get vaccines for yellow fever and those kind of deseases that are caused by mosquitos (dengue it's the most famouse one). You don't really need to worry about contagious diseases. It's a good idea about the peptobismol thing, food it's really different and if your stomach it's not used to all the delicious crap we eat here you might get an infection or something. Also maybe some medicines for the crazy weather changes (if you are planing to visit other cities), of course you can find pharmacies here but just in case. Hope it was helpfull and if you have anymore questions I'll be glad to help you!. Enjoy your trip to the Galapagos. |
