Has anyone ever been to Denver? If so, do you like the city?

I am graduating college in a year, and want to move to a different city. I love the mountains, so I was looking into Boise, Denver or any area which has things to do for young people. I would be 28 when I graduate.

Denver is great. I've lived here for over 13 years and don't see myself leaving CO anytime soon. The weather is great, the people are warm, the geography is gorgeous, you can be somewhere remote very easily, our cultural and culinary scene are booming, and there is lots to do. It is getting crowded though, and the prices are rising, I've seen a tremendous amount of growth since I've been here. So it is getting a little busy, but since you can get out of town so easily and get someplace quiet, it's worth it.

Denver is magnificent, though geographically isolated, sitting on a plateau exactly one mile above sea level and over 600 miles from the next closest major city. Concealed from the west by bold foothills and towering 14,000-foot Rocky Mountain peaks, and protected to the east by an expansive and high desert terrain, it is known for world-class skiing and biking, serene hiking and intense rock climbing.



Founded in 1859 as a gold mining camp, Denver is one of America's youngest cities, and one of the most exciting. This forward-looking metropolis has a population of 2.4 million. It is also the entertainment, shopping, cultural, sports and recreation capital of the Rocky Mountain West.

Denver's local music scene is lively, with bands playing almost every night of the week. Lower Downtown, between Wynkoop and Larimer streets and from 14th to 20th streets, is filled with bars, taverns and pubs ranging from retro martini lounges to hip dance clubs and smoky blues bars. I've Lived in denver my whole life and I love it. Great city. Also love to skate it.

I've been there before, and it is a pretty nice place to be. It really depends on yourself really, I think Denver is an outdoor place to me. So if you love mountains (which you do) then yeah, go there because it's a beautiful city.

Great place! I live in Atlanta, GA and go skiing there every year. I've been thinking of relocating there.

I don't think you will like Denver. The traffic is terrible. It takes for ever to commute to work. It's almost as bad as Los Angeles. Winter time is a challenge too. It gets really cold. Tonight it will be in the single digits! Culture is missing here. There is only one art museum, the museum of natural history has only one exhibit that actually changes. In terms of restaurants, it is all being taken over by chains such as Chili's, Black Eye Pea, Olive Garden, etc.., which all have about the same bland taste with the all the servers giving their required introductions ("Welcome to Chili's My name is ____, we're so happy you are here to day"). Although the downtown has improved in the last few years, the rest of the city feels like a suburban sprawl, and is rather ugly. The only remedy to this is that you can see the Rocky Mtns in the distance.

If you want a REAL city, I suggest New York City, Chicago, San Franciso, Portland, Boston, Washingtion DC, or Seattle.
