How does Denmark afford it???

not only does denmark provide 100% free uni education for all, they actually PAY students to go to uni, & students r allowed to go to uni for s long as they like. they also provide 100% free healthcare for all.

how does the danish govt afford it???

Healthcare and education are not "free" anywhere. In Denmark, they pay for it all with very high income taxes, very high business taxes, 25% sales tax/VAT on just about everything you purchase--goods and services, tax on cars that essentially doubles their cost--it's like paying double for a new car, tax on petrol that makes it $8 USD per gallon, road tax on cars based on engine size and vehicle weight that takes about $600 per year on average (more for bigger/heavier cars), media tax at $450 USD per year if you listen to the radio or surf the internet in Denmark--let alone have a tv; tax on assets both in and out of Denmark, very high tax on tobacco, the list goes on....

Because every single working Dane pays about 60 percent of his/her income in taxes.

Easy, we pay 49-53% tax on income, (but we can make about 6000$ tax free per year). and 25% tax on everything we by.

Higher Taxes on EVERYTHING in Denmark - your food, your clothes, your car (180% tax on that).

It's not 'free' - it's paid for by every working resident of Denmark - they even tax the money you receive for school FROM the government.

Nothing is free. We just pay higher taxes.
If you get something for free, you just pay more somewhere else. It's always like that. ;S

I am a student and got a monthly stipend from the government, yet I pay taxes around 37% monthly, if you are working and earning more then you pay more. Also you pay 25% VAT in everything you buy / eat
