How do I get a job teaching English in Denmark? |
I'm wanting to get a job in Denmark while I study at university. I think teaching english would be the best thing, since I don't know much danish yet, even though I will be taking a class on it this semester. I'm going to apply for a worker's permit, but I'm not sure where I can teach english, or the requirements they have here. I live in Holb忙k, so I can't teach in Copenhagen, unfortunately, because of the cost of travel. There is a school in the city i live where they teach english to adults. Try to contact the local AOF, they usually have English classes for adults good luck...alot of people try that but it doesnt usually work...they learn english very early in school here so there is really no need for outside help. As far as getting a job somewhere doing it you of course have to know danish to be able to teach or work anywhere. All paper work, communication, and explanations of english have to be done in their own language...so unless you are fluent in danish its pretty hard. Danish is very hard to learn. You also don't just get handed a permit....it can take up to 6 months if they allow it. Its hard to do everything in denmark...I've been here 3 years and i'm married to a dane and its very hard to get things done. Most people don't hire you unless you speak danish. I don't think that would work for they're usually very good in English. Specially, the yong guns!! try to apply all international schools in Denmark...... |
