i can't tell you the exact number but there are a few like johnsons those from the baby oil, most of the factories are from japan or places in asia

There are countless american based factories in juarez.

Last time I checked, the US government did not own private businesses... They are owned and operated by citizens and or boards. They can set up shop wherever they feel like it- unless you'd like to give your government the power to centralize the economy and decide who will produce what, where and when.

Russia had a little 70 year experiment of this. Didn't really turn out so well though.
