Are there a lot of racist in Christchurch New Zealand?

Are there a lot of racist in Christchurch New Zealand?

I've actually heard a few stories of racism in Christchurch but also stories in Nelson, Auckland and everywhere else. You can't really escape it. It wouldn't stop me from moving to Christchurch though.

...

Why are you even asking this question??????? Are you one of them and trying to find some nasty like-minded people.

Christchurch is a safe city to live in - rather than say, Auckland. I lived in the south Island for years and a year in Christchurch and never come across any racism. There is more of that problem in Auckland.
On saying that there is racism everywhere in the world, it's not going to go away any time soon. NZ is a very multicultural country.

IT is sad that this sort of thing does go on in NZ.

Theres not anymore racism that takes place in NZ than in other countries. It's fine.

NZ is probably more accepting than some other nations come to think of it.

There are racist people every where, but I would say there aren't too many in Christchurch compared to say Auckland or Sydney or London.

I don't know about immigrants from other countries, but I first moved to Wellington from Australia and everyone was so friendly - no-one ever mentioned anything about me having come from Australia. In Christchurch however, every time I spoke there was some sort of comment like "are you Australian (chuckle chuckle)" and it made me feel like an outsider. It may have just been that they were more observant of my accent but it was the way they said it that just got on my nerves. I wouldn't call that being racist - but I'm just pointing out the difference in the people of those two cities.

not any more than anywhere else, but they are highly prejudicial towards aucklanders lol.
