I need some family reunion ideas/pointers our reunion for maybe about 30 ppl (Chicago area)?

I was thinking maybe bowling friday and a dinner saturday and a movie day with the famliy Sunday etc

Here is a suggestion for the Saturday activity as this is a popular thing to do....

Have a BBQ/Lunch at a park or Forest Preserve All you would need to do is get a permit from the County Forest Preserve Commission (or if its at a Chicago Park District Park you don't need a permit if its under 50 people) and have everyone join in the fun. But don't do ALL the planning...have family members divide the tasks and what to bring....food, music, games, etc. And if the weather is warm enough you can even have the reunion along the beach areas and everyone can swim at the lake. The other activities you have planned sound great as well...if you are doing this other than the summertime, then something like a dinner somewhere would be a nice idea too. If the people gathered are church-going folks, you might want to see about renting a church hall for the reunion.

At the dinner you could have a slide projector going. It could be automatic and show slides of family photos. Photos of everyone in the family. Old and new photos... Or use a computer and monitor.

well you dont want to keep them too busy, they might wanna talk about how everything is going. maybe you could do some fun games! like family against family,you could make some gift baskets for prizes!

All sounds good. Taking them out to GameWorks in Schaumburg or Dave and Buster's might not be bad, either. Both places work well with both adults and kids.

Unless there's a movie everybody HAS to see, might I recommend scrapping that on Sunday in favor of a lunch Sunday, perhaps deep-dish pizza to make sure out-of-towners get some ultimate Chicago cuisine. Your call, though.
