Romantic Vacation in Illinois?

My husband and I area looking for a nice hotel to go to for a night. We stayed at the Sybaris a few months ago and would like to stay at another one similar to it. We know there is another one but we can't find it and don't know the name of it. We thought we would look into a different place if we can find out. Sybaris was gorgeous and we will go back if there's no other place. We are in central Illinois and are willing to travel to another part of Illinois. Any one know of any places? Also, we don't want a bed and breakfast.

I used to live in Chicago and my mother does now so we've done all the Chicago stuff and really would like to stay out of the city. We are people who like quiet and being out in the country .:)

Sybaris is nice though, if you don't want to travel far and you enjoyed it, why not go back?

The Geneva area has many B&B's that are real nice

Not sure which Sybaris you stayed at, but the two in the immediate Chicago area are in Downers Grove, a western suburb, and Northbrook, a northern suburb. They have one or two similar ones down Mannheim Road, south of O'Hare Airport, but those are much sketchier than either of the Sybarises.

You might want to try Hotwire.com for a good hotel. If you target the downtown area, they'll have some good hotels if you stay above 3 stars. You can also target the O'Hare area, then just take a limo downtown (or the L). You can do the carriage ride, shop Michigan Avenue, plenty of romantic restaurants that way, or walk up to Oak Street Beach for a great view if it's warm enough
