If visiting Burgos?

Where are good places to visit?

In Burgos itself, the cathedral is one of the most beautiful in Spain, well worth a visit. Also the Monastery of Las Huelgas. El Arco de Santa Mar铆a, several churches and palaces. And the Plaza de San Juan.
In the province there are many small towns worth visiting. Covarrubias is a medieval town, full of history and beauty.
Lerma with its main plaza and palace.
Aranda de Duero, has a lovely plaza and the town hall building overlooks it. Also there are several churches. (And excellent food the "Asadores" where the specialty is roast leg of lamb or tiny tender lamb cutlets).
There are many other towns worth a quick visit. Check out at the Burgos city hall for tourist information (Ayuntamiento de Burgos).

Celtiberian city. region to be known as Castile (Latin castella), i.e. "land of castles".

Visiting places are
Lerma, Villadiego, Plampiega, Palenzuela, Covarrubias

For me, I would go to Atapuerca, it is very close to Burgos.
But hey, I'm an anthropologist.
