Hi there, could you help me find some information please? (About photoshoots)?

I am looking for a job as an 'extra' and I need a portfolio of some sort and I wondered where I could go in Cardiff to have a photo shoot but not at a huge expense?

You don't need a portfolio for 'background' work. A reasonably well lit photo, taken against a plain curtain at home or in your garden, will be fine for casting. reputable agencies will file (and supply to casting directors) this photo only, with a details sheet.

As your career becomes more established, it will finance a better standard of 'card' and directory entries.

There are bogus agencies that will charge you for increasingly more 'professional' accessory services, without providing any guaranteed casting leads. Avoid these.

As a Photography Student in University I have a suggestion.

Why don't you contact the Tutor at the University to see if they would like a model for an afternoon or evening. In exchange they may let have some of the pictures in exchange for your time.

If you do not ask, you will never know.
