CARDIFF HOTEL - where to stay???

Hello. I want to book a hotel next week somewhere near the Central Train station in Cardiff. Can anyone recommend a nice budget hotel? or an apartment maybe? There's 3 of us. I'm not sure where I want to be close to (as a tourist) but since I'm catching the train there I figure near the station is a good start! thanks if you can help!

The travel lodge is on St Mary Street which backs on to the Central Train station so that would be handy cos you can just walk across and its a good central location for most places, Cardiff isn't that big so if you stay on St Mary Street you have all the shops, bars and restaurants nearby and Cardiff Castle is right at the end of the street and the museum, theatre and city hall are also in walking distance, so is Cardiff Bay (in the other direction) which is worth seeing too. or you could look on hotels.com, they have a full range of hotels and most of them have a price guarantee. Have a lovely time : )

there's a Marriott hotel near the station and there's a travel lodge on top of the walkabout bar which is just around the corner in Mary street...

I agree with the above answer, the good thing about Cardiff is that a lot of the major hotels are within the centre of town so are easily accessible - try the link below and have a good trip

There's a Travel Lodge in St. Mary's Street, which is just around the corner, and there are one or two others in the same street. Also nearby is The Big Sleep hotel which is quite reasonable. Try looking on www.visitwales.com for all accommodation options.

There's some good suggestions here, but i'd recommend looking at this last minute special's site. Many of the places offer free inclusions as well.

Here's some specific hotels for you :

Macdonald Holland House Cardiff - central rail station is just 10 minutes away and Cardiff International Airport 30 minutes drive. http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Unite...
