Flight to Cancun / Aero Mexico?

My husband and I are planning a trip to Cancun. Did not realize that we have to fly aeromexico and not an american flight. I am DEATHLY afraid to fly since 9/11 and am trying to get over that fear. Can anyone tell me about the trip, or the airlines if they are nice, well maintained?

Please relax...I'm not sure tourist going to Cancun, Mexico is first on the hit list of a terrorist. Have a few cocktails and relax you are flying to paradise...
