I'm going to cancun for five nights, what are some must do/see things?

What are some things that I need to go see and do? Places to see during the day and what is there to do during the night time? Restaurants, bars, nightclubs, etc.? What was your experience there?

A couple of things are a must do.

Chichen Itza (Mayan Ruins)

take a ferry over to Isla Mujeres. Rent a golf cart and tour this tiny island. Go for a swim at Norte beach, do a little shopping or get a bite to eat.
