Is there a cheap place to stay in Cancun?

If you don't stay on the beach, and you stay in "downtown" Cancun, you can stay in smaller motels, such as the Hotel Paradour for $30/night. You can ride the bus to the beach for $1 each way, and the entire beach is free to anyone. You can walk the entire length of the beach. You just have to enter at the public entrances. There is one across the street from Daddy O's.

I went to Cancun for a week...7 days. It only cost me $800...that included meals, plane tickets, hotel, clubs and drinks for each night...I went through a travel agent. You should check into it...package deals are out there.

I stayed in the Girasol hotel, It was not so great, but I was never there..only to change clothes or sleep.

There are cheapER places than others to stay in CanCun, but it depends on what your looking for. When we go, we pay more to be ocean side. There are hotels on the Laguna, but they are pretty gross. My mother and her boyfriend went and stayed in one at the same time we were there. She didn't think it would matter because she would come swim at our pool, drink at our swim up bar, and walk the ocean in front of our hotel. However, she was completely grossed out at her hotel. There were cockroaches and the accomodations were nasty. She said she would never go cheap again! You are better off to pay a little more, and stay at a 4+ star hotel. They aren't that much more, but they are worth it!

Also, if you are looking for a crazy wild nightlife with tons of tourists and even more young teenage drinking, CanCun is your place. If you are looking for a family vacations, beautiful serene peacefullness....forget it. CanCun was all that 15 years ago, but now it is just a glorified Fort Lauterdale Spring break. We were overrun with drunk 16 year olds last time we went. Oh, and the food prices have gone out the roof! Your dollar used to go a long way in Mexico, but not anymore.
